Freezing Point

Freezing Point

Yuko Asakura uses the lampworking technique to create her pieces, where hard glass is melted in a flame from a burner. Various shapes are made out of the molten glass and then assembled together with thin glass rods.

Freezing Point received a grand prize in the general public category at Glass ’15 in Japan.

"It is the image of the fragile thin ice in the late winter when spring is approaching. I created it by limiting the usage of colours.", explains the artist.
